The Movement:
The movement is a high grade 16-jewels precision continental chronometer.
The movement has a crown winding. For this purpose we have chosen a pumpkin shaped crown which was matches exactly to the overall appearance of the case. The hands set is operated by a setting lever, which can be activated by a pumpkin shaped pusher.
To enhance the power coming through the train, the center wheel is provided with a chaton jewel, which is mounted in massive rose gold and is screwed threefold. Only jewel bearings minimize reliably the friction due to enormous driving power of the mainspring and consequently of the mainspring barrel. The screwed chaton allows the precise adjustment of the wheel and the quick change of the bearing jewel if necessary.
13 jewels are bearing and protecting all wheel arbors of the movement. The two pallets of the pallet fork and the ruby ellipse of the roller are also jeweled.
Therefore this high grade movement is jeweled with 16 rubies, taken all jewels together.
The impressive large bimetallic balance wheel with regulation and compensation screws takes nearly the half of the diameter of the movement. Such large balance wheel is an attribute of a lever chronometer. The timing screws are made of pure rose gold; the Brequet balance spring is blued.
Also a technical refinement is the Maltese (Geneva) stopwork which limits the tension of the mainspring so it would operate only in the range where its elastic force is nearly linear.
The nickel bars and bridges are decorated with Geneva stripes. They were already in a good condition, but now, after cleaning, they appear in a nice matt finish.
The train is gold plated and the inner phases of the wheels are polished.
The flats and beveled edges of all steel parts are polished and underline the outstanding high standard of the movement.

All movement side screws, the index, as well as the flat ends of the winding wheel arbors and the ends of the minute wheel pinion are polished by hand with diamantine on a zinc plate or with 3M diamond finishing film. The gold parts are also high gloss polished !!!
All necessary pivots were also polished; the watch has been adjusted and runs now with good amplitude for over 40 hours per full winding.
On the movement side,on the barrel bridge is engraved by hand with the signature “Tiffany & Co. - New York”. The balance bar is fancy engraved with a floral pattern.
The Dial:
The splendid white single sunk enamel dial is the original dial which belongs to that movement. It was professionally cleaned and shines now in an elegant pure white. The hour and the second register his furnished with roman numerals. This contrasts fabulous with the white enamel surface; the plain case matches very well with this elaborate and elegant dial.
The dial is signed with “Tiffany & Co. - New York”.
The Hands:
The original pears styled hands are also the originals and are completing the wonderful appearance of this watch. The hands are blued in dark blue and now glowing gorgeous on the enameled dial.
The Case:
The case was made of ca. 40 gram Sterling Silver 935. For an efficient protection of the silver surface the case, the case screws, the tube ans the crown was plated with Rhodium.
Rhodium is one of the hardest and most expensive metals of the world. More expensive than gold !!!
The case was produced and fitted especially for this movement. It was adjusted precisely to the movement, so that we were able to leave out a movement holding ring. The movement is fixed with its original case screws.
The case is designed as a three-part classical case!
That means, the case consists of a bezel with a mirror (reflector), the middle part and the bottom bezel. The bottom bezel is furnished with a large window and with a mirror (reflector).
All case parts are screwed together with case screws.
Through this 3-part
construction the movement could be fixed with its original case screws, like it was made by the original pocket watch cases. The movement will be brought in the case from above and fixed from the back with the case screws.
And the fixing holes for the strap spring bar is drilled from inside the strap bars of the case. Therefore they are not visible.
The glazed bezel on the back of the case enables the view into the impressing movement.
In addition the bottom bezel is signed with our manufacture signature:
"Avvus - Manufacture Horlogere Dresden"
and the Avvus security watch code
"RK-SS-MK No. 47632" .
This signature is registered by us, and displays this watch not only as a distinctively unique, but also identifies this watch as yours.
The Strap:
The 18 mm lug to lug width is probably the only harmonic option for a 35 mm case. Of cause it is possible to buy readymade 18 mm straps, but they are mostly of a very simple quality. Due to fact that they are too thin for a thick case, they leave a bad impression.
Therefore we let produce our straps, individually for every single watch, from the top grade manufacturer Rios1931 - Germany
Over the length the strap tapers from 18 mm to 16 mm and is continually decreases in thickness. Therefore the band has an adequate thickness at the case side of 6 mm and a flexible thin end of 3 mm at the buckle side. So the strap has to be wedge-shaped. And this you obtain through the complex lamination of the strap.
The different layers of the strap are stitched together with a fine quilting seam, tone-in-tone with the colour of the leather.
The massive buckle is made of stainless steel and is signed with our manufacturer logo "Avvus"
The Watch Box:
We deliver your watch in a luxury and fine elaborated with precious wood veneered watch box. The colour of lining is creme. These watch box will be certainly the depository of your precious watch.

ACCURACY AND WATER:
Because our antique watches and movements were subjects to certain “strains” since their appearance, they cannot be warranted to be a 100 water resistant. Water and water vapor (steam) are the worst enemies of your watch. Please avoid taking our watch to the bathroom, or keep it for a long time in the kitchen or similar rooms with high humidity.
Every antique watch should be serviced periodically, so you will have more pleasure of it for a longer time. Therefore we advice you should give your watch a service every 4 years.

Due to extensive restoration, all our watches are not only extreme fancy, but also fully functional. It is quite natural for us and our regular customers and collectors, but we would like to give every new customer a feeling to purchase from us an absolute top quality product.

WARRANTY
ONE
It applies only the present in Germany valid legal warranty regulations
TWO
In the case of sale of a used product, the legal limitation period is abbreviating for warranty demands to a year from the legal limitation period.
THREE
The details which were declared from the seller or operator in the auction article text and on the homepage was made in all conscience, but generally do not constitutes a guaranteed quality, unless there are not resulting others from the context.
FOUR
The warranty do not covers any defects which occur from improper handling or changes in the movement by the customer himself or the third person. If someone other than us ourselves opens the case, the guaranteed warranty expires.
FIFE
No warranty for water resistance. Also the watch was timed to the reasonable margins (which are individual from one movement to another – please note that the movements are over 100 years old!), we carry no warranty for the rate errors. No warranty for operation accuracy, abrasion of the strap and common sign of wear (scratches on the case and the strap). That is explicitly no blemish.
Unfortunately we also cannot grant any warranty for the mainspring.

The full-bug strap "ART MANUEL" is the high-end technique for the most exclusive articles of RIOS1931.
First the upper leather (bug mantle) is turned around the fleece padding and tucked under the leather lining, glued and thus double stitched.Then the edges will smoothed with heat, sanded down and then painted 5 times with edge dye. Loops and buckle flap are stitched by hand.
There are needed up to 175 operations for manufacturing the ART MANUELL Straps of RIOS1931 and are some of the most elaborate and exclusive watch straps of the world !!!
These strap is made by finest plain needlework of black fine structured and genuine alligator leather. The fine structured leather from the flank of the alligator is particular soft and smooth.
Of course the strap comes with the species protection tag of the IRV, the international association of reptile leathers and of CITES - Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (www.irv-ra.de)
The IRV-flag guarantees, that the leather complies with all stipulations regarding species protection in accordance with the Washington Species Protection Agreement
